No Divide KC’s Art Spark is a community-based arts education program to provide Kansas City-area youth with high-quality programming that presents visual, literary and/or performing arts as an avenue for creative self-expression and emotional well-being.


All support groups are free and open to the public.

Musical Explorations

1st + 3rd Mondays of the month

Synergy Services Youth Resiliency Center

These are performing arts-based mutual support sessions dedicated to exploring and encouraging personal identity through music. In each session, the group will participate in a discussion focusing on issues of identity followed by musical exploration in the Synergy Services Music Studio. The performing arts are a powerful tool to share stories, listen to others and help each other work through difficult life problems. This session is for all teens and no music experience is necessary.

 

Queer Teen Support Group

2nd + 4th Mondays of the month

These are mutual support sessions dedicated to exploring LGBTQ+ identity and experiences. In each session, the group will have open discussion and opportunities to share their stories, issues and successes. This session is for teens who identify as queer in any way as well as individuals that are unsure or exploring their queerness.

Arts Entrepreneurship

Arts Entrepreneurship courses vary from a 12-week curriculum to 1 hour workshops focused on a single topic.

Goals and Outcomes for the program include:
1. Grow critical businesses skills, tools, resources and partnerships for our Creative work force to be more nimble, inspired, impactful, relevant and competitive.
2. Help participants create and maintain job opportunities, decrease their underemployment and increase revenue.
3. Teach Creatives and Entrepreneurs the tools needed to attain ‘a seat at the table’ with government, educational institutions and other community development sectors.
4. Educate other sectors about Creative Arts Industries and SocioCultural Entrepreneurship as critical components in innovative community development.
5. Activate networks and cooperative partnerships to further grow and support participants’ projects.
6. Broaden regional outreach, partnerships, constituents and professional providers.
7. Elevate the Creative Industries interconnection, communications and national profile.
8. Contribute, through arts and cultural businesses, to the economic vibrancy of the region.
9. Through more successful Creative Entrepreneurship, attract visitors, cultural tourism, audiences and further investments.
10. Deepen the understanding of the economic importance and impact of Creative Arts Industries. Give further opportunities to measure how the Creative Arts Industries impact economic/community development.
